Week 1: Establishing the Learning Environment
Welcome back to all the new and old LES cubs! This week we will be learning the rules, expectations, and routines to ensure we have a safe, respectful, and caring learning environment throughout the year.
Week 2: Establishing the Learning Environment
Students will be continuing to learn/review the expectations and routines while engaged in small group activities. Students will demonstrate cooperative learning skills while engaged in a physical literacy activity.
Kindergarten- Students will be learning procedures and routines. Students will also be performing various locomotor skills and practicing safe movements while engaged in physical activity.
Week 3: Establishing the Learning Environment
Students will be learning/reviewing skill line expectations and safety procedures.
Kindergarten- Students will be continuing to learn/review the expectations and routines. Students will be given a locomotor skills assessment on their ability to perform the following---walk, jog, skip, gallop, side slide, run, hop, jump, and leap.
Week 4, 5, and 6: Lacrosse Skills/Throwing and Catching
2nd-5th: Lacrosse
Students will be learning the basic skills used in the sport of Lacrosse. Students will learn the correct technique for throwing, catching, and retrieving ground balls.
K&1: Throwing and Catching
Students will be learning the correct throwing and catching techniques that will make them successful in many games and activities.
Week 7: Station and Assessment Day
K-5th: Students will be participating in various stations that focus on the skills they have been learning. One station will be a teacher visual assessment.
